Fatigue and Fracture Analysis
Developing high quality, efficient finite element (FEA) models is only the first step in predicting actual failure of engineering components and structures. Defining failure criteria and understanding fatigue durability is essential to truly robust design
Predicting failure is often the end goal of finite element analysis. This, however, is not a trivial undertaking.
Fidelis is capable of predicting yielding, time-dependent creep and overload events in components and structures. Perhaps more commonplace, though, is the analysis of durability. In this type of simulation, fatigue-life is estimated in terms of load cycles to crack initiation, and subsequent propagation of the crack through the part can also be predicted if necessary.
When you collaborate with the Fidelis team, you get what YOU need.
